AgentBroker Brief #1 — the year AI agents got a brokerage account
Hi, welcome to issue #1. Every week this email tells you which brokers, banks and exchanges opened (or closed) the door to AI agents — with a link to the source for every claim. Spain and the EU first.
The short version: in 2026, connecting ChatGPT, Claude or Grok to an investment account went from hack to product. We now track 55 providers; 32 ship an official agent integration. But almost everything that lets an agent actually place orders is US-only or crypto. For someone in Spain, the list is short.
What a Spanish investor can use today
| Provider | What the agent can do | The catch |
|---|---|---|
| Interactive Brokers | Drafts orders; you submit them in IBKR | Can't execute on its own — by design |
| Scalable Capital | Places orders after you approve each one | Agent-feature country list not published (Scalable operates in Spain) |
| MyInvestor | Searches & compares 2,000+ funds inside ChatGPT/Claude | Catalogue only — no access to your account |
| Revolut X (crypto) | Places market/limit orders with your approval | Claude connector itself is read-only; trading goes via CLI/skill |
| Bit2Me (crypto) | Places Pro orders via a local MCP | Developer setup; keep the withdrawal scope off |
| Indexa Capital | Read-only official API | No official MCP |
The 4 providers in the index that are authorised to serve Spain and have an official tool that lets an agent place orders: Scalable Capital, Trading 212, Bit2Me, Revolut X. Check each one's agent-feature country list before relying on it. Not counted: cTrader (Spotware), which is trading software, not a broker; the broker you connect it to must be authorised in Spain.
Spanish high-street banks (Santander, CaixaBank, Sabadell, Bankinter, ING, Openbank, Renta 4): no official agent integration found. BBVA has a ChatGPT app — but only in Italy and Germany so far.

The one thing to check before you connect anything
Who presses the button? Three designs exist: the agent drafts and you submit (IBKR), the agent prepares and you confirm each order (Scalable, Revolut X), or the agent executes inside a ring-fenced pot (eToro, Binance, Coinbase). None is magic — but know which one you're signing up for, and start read-only.

CFDs and crypto-assets are high risk. Check that a provider is authorised in your country (in Spain: CNMV / Banco de España registers) before opening an account. Paid placements are always labelled 'Advertising' and never change the data or order of the index. AI agents make mistakes. No provider paid to appear here; this issue contains no affiliate links.
CFD risk warning (eToro, Interactive Brokers, Trading 212 and cTrader-based brokers offer CFDs): CFDs are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. Most retail investor accounts lose money when trading CFDs. Consider whether you understand how CFDs work and whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money.
